Wrightwood Mountain Classic Car Show to feature vehicles from the 1920s to 1975 – Daily Bulletin


The mountain town of Wrightwood is gearing up for the 27th Annual Wrightwood Mountain Classic Car Show, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 20.

The show, in and around downtown Wrightwood, will feature more than 200 vehicles dating from the 1920s to 1975, including American-made rods, customs, classics, coupes, muscle cars, trucks and special cars, according to a press release.

In addition to the Best of Show award, trophies will be awarded in 24 categories.

Pre-registration at $30 per car will be accepted through August 5 through the Wrightwood Chamber of Commerce. Event day registration is $40 per car. All participants receive a t-shirt and a scoreboard plaque, according to the press release.

There will be a classic vehicle cruise through Wrightwood the day before the auto show, starting at 7 p.m.

Auto show day activities begin with a pancake breakfast at the Community Building from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., hosted by Wrightwood’s 351 Boy Scout Troop. The cost is $10.

The day’s events include tricycle races for children in three age groups around the city center at Evergreen Road and Park Drive. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and races begin at 1 p.m.

There will be a vendor village with food, various stalls and the Chamber of Commerce beer stand fundraiser, and the Modd Rodds will perform throughout the day, featuring hits from the 1950s in the 1970s.
