Beginning Saturday, May 14, the Mississauga Classic Car Club kicks off its 2022 season. Taking place every Saturday until at least September 17 (September 24 is the alternate final night, if it rains on the 17th), Dixie Outlet Mall (near the QEW and Dixie Road) will host this long-running event.

Starting at 4:00 p.m. and running until 9:00 p.m., some of the theme nights include Ford, GM, Mopar and imports, so there’s sure to be plenty to enjoy, including occasional nights with a live DJ.

Officially named “Saturday Night Show N’ Shine”, the summer event started 25 years ago and, according to the club’s website, here’s how it went down: “As with most things in life, good ideas and necessity are the mothers of all inventions. In the summer of 1997, the three founding members banded together, after losing their storage locations, to find a place where they could store their cars and work there during the winter months.

“The space located was larger than expected and it was decided that the space could be rented out to others, like them, wanting space to store and work. From those beginnings of 9 cars to currently 40 cars are stored and worked on and many are waiting to enter – and a club has been formed.
