Monmouth, IL Cruise Night is Illinois’ largest auto show

MONMOUTH — Organizers of Cruise Night in Maple City, self-proclaimed Illinois’ largest auto show, are expecting record attendance for the 23rd annual event Friday in downtown Monmouth.

Clifford Adam, President of Maple City Cruise Night, said he expects between 3,800 and 4,000 cars of all shapes and sizes to be on display Friday. Event hours are 5-9 p.m., but spectators can start checking out the cars when setup begins at 7 a.m. Admission is free and cars can also enter for free on the day of the event.

“Every car show I’ve been to and my friends have been to this year has been top notch,” Adam said. “I’ve been to auto shows from Chicago to southern Illinois, and I think we’re the biggest in the state. We’re expecting record numbers of people and cars this year. matches what we have here in Monmouth.”

Adam said they expected 40,000 people to attend the evening cruise in Maple City.

“So on August 5, Monmouth’s population will be larger than Galesburg’s,” Adam said. “In the minds of a lot of people, it’s the best thing the town of Monmouth has to offer. It brings in a lot of people and a lot of income.”

Here’s how it will work on Friday:

Where is the car show located?

Monmouth Square is ground zero for the event. This is where cars check in, food vendors will be located, and entertainment will happen. The show cars will be located on the streets of Monmouth town centre.

What are the schedules ?

Show car owners can register and start parking on the streets of Monmouth at 7am on Friday.

Event hours are 5-9 p.m., but spectators can start checking out the cars when setup begins at 7 a.m.

How much does it cost?

Admission is free and cars can also enter for free on the day of the event.

The show can be free for attendees and spectators thanks to the event’s generous sponsors, according to Adam.

Where should I park?

The main spectator parking area is at Monmouth-Roseville High School, 200 SB St, Monmouth. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early and be patient on the day of the event, according to Adam. Parking will also be available in the streets not reserved for the show entrances.

Will there be food available?

There will be 12-13 food vendors set up at the event throughout the day. Adam said a vendor was planning to serve breakfast to early risers.

Will there be entertainment?

The band Eternity Road will perform from 6pm to 9pm There will also be a DJ from 10am to 6pm

Door prizes and a 50/50 raffle will be available, and Cruise Night in Maple City t-shirts will also be on sale.
