Hyderabad to host series of EV car exhibitions – The New Indian Express

HYDERABAD: In order to boost sales of electric vehicles and reduce the carbon footprint in Hyderabad, a series of EV car exhibitions will be held over a period of three months, starting in October, in the city. To be sponsored by Olectra, a pioneer in the manufacture of electric buses, these exhibitions will provide a platform for manufacturers as well as dealers to showcase and sell their electric vehicles. Many manufacturers of two, three and four wheel vehicles are expected to participate in these events.

According to the Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO), the first in the series will be a three-day exhibition to be held at Hitex from October 8-10. Organized within the framework of the Telangana policy on electric vehicles and energy storage 2020-2030, the main objective of these EV exhibitions is to raise awareness of the importance of environmentally friendly vehicles, EV infrastructure available in Hyderabad and also on demand for such vehicles as well as future EVs in the country.

Speaking to Express, TSREDCO Managing Director N Janaiah said: “Previously, when a similar auto show was held in the city, it became a big hit with 5,000 people visiting the show in a single day. and many reserving their favorite electric vehicles according to their budget.The event attracted nearly 40 manufacturers.

“The number of manufacturers expected to attend the next EV show will be double the previous one. From the four-wheel segment, manufacturers such as Tata, Mahindra, Renault and Morrise Garage would participate in this show. Many manufacturers will present two-wheelers. The Ola EV bikes were in high demand across the country and they would also be participating in the show, ”he added. A recent study found that adding 10,000 electric vehicles would save Rs 240 crore per year on fuel.
