Hot Vehicles to Support North Montco Student Careers

LANSDALE PA – Own a hot car, like a street rod? Own a cool car, like a fake import? OK, maybe none of those, but if you own a car or truck that you’re proud of, like to show it off and think it could benefit from the love and attention of the public, the North Montco Educational Foundation is planning an event that’s right up your alley.

The foundation has planned its first motor show for April 9 (2022; Saturday) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at North Montco Technical Career Center, 1265 Sumneytown Pike. The show is a fundraiser intended to ensure the the foundation fulfills its mission to provide financial support to the center to “respond to emerging educational needs”.

Dozens of students from the Perkiomen Valley School District, as well as those from the districts of Methacton, North Penn, Souderton and Wissahickon, attend the center to hands-on training in 22 different commercial and industrial trades. Proceeds the foundation hopes to earn from the auto show help pay for the programs and labs used by the students, as well as the local businesses that will later employ them for skills that are in high demand.

Providing vocational and technical training can be expensive, the foundation recognizes, but adds that “training students in relevant industry technologies is a worthwhile investment” for businesses and communities in the region. It expands students’ knowledge of their favorite occupations, makes them more valuable as future employees, and boosts the local economy.

Show vehicles can be entered in four categories – imports; street rods; antiques, survivors and classics; or trucks – at a cost of $20 per vehicle. About fifty vehicles are expected and prizes will be awarded. Pre-registration is available online, here.

The show will also feature menu specials offered by on-site food trucks, musical entertainment and door prizes. Several North Montco students will also exhibit their own vehicles!

Commercial sponsors for the event are also being sought. For more information on sponsorships, call Denise Collins at 215-368-1177, ext. 303, or email her at [email protected]
