MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Fair is back with a full roster of events for juniors and seniors this summer. It will take place from Sunday July 25 to Saturday July 31.

Here’s what each day will entail:

Sunday July 25

8:00 a.m. – Doors open

8h00 – Worship service (Multipurpose building)

9 a.m. – Junior Fair rabbit show, followed by a Junior Fair rabbit show (Small Animal Arena)

9 a.m. – 4-H Vegetable Judgment and Flower Building

10am – Equine dressage show (Horse Show Arena)

10 a.m. to 8 p.m. – DinoRoar! Wandering Dinosaur Show (Kiddie Land)

11 a.m. – Coronation of the King and Queen of the Junior Fair (intermediate stage)

12 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Museum of Agriculture open

2 p.m. – Draft Show Arena

2:00 p.m. – 28th & 29th Annual Little Miss Knox County (Intermediate Stop)

2:00 p.m. – Flower Specimen and Artistic Arrangement Judgment (Flower Building)

3 p.m. – Pen of Three Market Lamb Judgment, followed by the Junior Fair Sheep Show, followed by the Market Lamb Show (Multipurpose Building)

3 p.m. – Pony Pulling Open (Horse Pulling / Upper Track)

3 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Exhibition of Indian artefacts (Agricultural Museum)

5 p.m. – Equine mini-show (Horse Show Arena)

5 p.m. – Opening ceremony (Energy Cooperative platform)

6:00 p.m. – NTPA Pull (five classes), followed by Buckeye Power Productions Pull (four classes) – pulling on two tracks (Energy Cooperative Grandstand)

6 p.m. – Junior Fair Pig Show (Swine Barn Arena)

Monday July 26

8:00 a.m. – Doors open

9:00 a.m. – Judging of the Grange exhibition (Flower Building)

9 a.m. – Senior Fair dairy, followed by the Junior Fair dairy and showmanship (multi-purpose building)

9:30 a.m. – Draft horse and draft pony harnessing course

10am – Equine English Show (Horse Show Arena)

10 a.m. – Junior Fair market (Small Animal Arena)

10 a.m. to 8 p.m. – DinoRoar! Wandering Dinosaur Show (Kiddie Land)

12 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Museum of Agriculture open

12:00 p.m. – Harness races (Energy Cooperative stand)

1:00 p.m. – Junior Fair dairy market food showmanship (multi-purpose building)

1 p.m. – Horticultural judgment (Fleur building)

3 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Exhibition of Indian artefacts (Agricultural Museum)

5 p.m. – Junior Fair market and meat production goat show, followed by the Junior Fair market goat show, followed by the meat production doe show (Multipurpose building)

6:00 p.m. – Junior Fair Pig Show (Swine Barn Arena)

7 p.m. – Demolition drag races (Energy Cooperative stand)

7 p.m. – Moto Cross (Horse Pulling / Upper Track)

Tuesday July 27

8:00 a.m. – Doors open

9 a.m. – Junior Fair Dairy Goats and Pygmy Goats, followed by a Master Goat Show Contest (Swine Barn Arena)

10am – Light horse equine and miniature versatility (Horse Show Arena)

10 a.m. – Junior Fair, followed by a showmanship (Small Animal Arena)

10 a.m. to 8 p.m. – DinoRoar! Wandering Dinosaur Show (Kiddie Land)

11 a.m. – Dairy Market Junior Food Fair, followed by a Market Dairy Steer Fair (multi-purpose building)

12 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Museum of Agriculture open

1 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Knox County Cubs Troop & Pack 332 Fun Day at the Fair (4-H Booth Building / Junior Fair Office)

3 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Exhibition of Indian artefacts (Agricultural Museum)

5 p.m. – Draft horse show (Horse Show Arena)

6 p.m. – Junior Fair Beef Feeder Fair, followed by the Market Beef Fair (Multipurpose Building)

Wednesday July 28

9 a.m. – Junior Fair market dairy steer demonstration and market beef showmanship, followed by a beef farm show (multi-purpose building)

12 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Museum of Agriculture open

2:45 p.m. – Showman of Showmen Junior Fair competition

(Seniors Day, Veterans Day and Fair Sales Day for Juniors)

8:00 am – Opening of the sales building (Junior fair sales office)

9 a.m. – Announcement of sales and special prices (Multipurpose building)

9:30 am – Sale of Champions (Polyvalent Building)

10 a.m. – Horse Show Arena

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Seniors Day Event (Infield of Racetrack)

12 p.m. to 10:50 p.m. – Group Showcase (Midway Stage)

12 p.m. (approximately) – Sales of the junior fair begin in the multi-purpose building (dairy market flies, turkeys, broilers, fryers, dairy steers from the market, beef feeders, market beef)

12:00 p.m. (approx) – Junior Fair sales start at Swine Barn Arena (market lambs, market goats, market pigs)

12 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Museum of Agriculture open

1 p.m. – Artistic floral exhibition (Flower Building)

3 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Exhibition of Indian artefacts (Agricultural Museum)

4:00 p.m. – Parade of old tractors (energy cooperative stand)

11am – Open / fun horse show and roping competition – roping and foot binding are open to all 4-H and FFA (Horse Show Arena) members

1 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. – Showcase of the Bands (Midway Stage)

3 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Exhibition of Indian artefacts (Agricultural Museum)

4 p.m. – Horse clover bud show (Hog barn scales)

5 p.m. – Junior Fair dog show (Multipurpose building)

6 p.m. – Draft show – costume lessons (Draft Show Arena)

7:00 p.m. – Championship Rodeo presented by Diamond J. Rodeo Co. (Energy Cooperative Grandstand)

11 a.m. – Closing of registrations for the presentation of gift cards to young people (forum of the Energy Cooperative)

12 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Museum of Agriculture open

12:00 p.m. – Prize draw for the gift card – must be present to win (Grandstand of the Energy Cooperative)

12:00 p.m. – Non-Terminal Market Pig Show (Swine Barn Arena)

1 p.m. – Pedal Tractor (Midway Stage)

3 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Exhibition of Indian artefacts (Agricultural Museum)

7 p.m. – OSTPA Truck / Tractor Pull (two-track traction) (Energy Cooperative Tribune)

Admission will cost $ 7 per day. Children 8 and under will enter for free.

The rides this year will be provided by Bates Brothers Amusements Company, of Wintersville, Ohio. They will be open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Wednesday; 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday; 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday; and from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays. It will cost $ 12 Monday for an all day bracelet; every other day it will cost $ 17.

The exhibitors of the Junior Breeding Fair will move their equipment on Thursday 22 July. They will move their animals on Friday July 23 and Saturday July 24. Veterinary checks and weighings will take place on these days.

The introduction and crowning of the 4-H horses will take place on July 24 at 6 p.m., and harness racing will also take place on the grandstand track that evening.
