Experience loads of family fun at the Hamburg Family Fun Fest today


HAMBURG TWP. — Celebrating its 16th birthday, the Hamburg Family Fun Fest started on Wednesday and will continue until Saturday this week at Bennett Park on Merrill Road in the canton of Hamburg.

The festival opens Thursday noon, Friday 2 p.m. and Saturday noon. The only cost for families is a $5 parking fee per car or the purchase of an armband for the carnival rides. Armbands are available for $25 Thursday and $30 Friday and Saturday during the event.

Throughout the four-day festival, there will be a trade show of arts and crafts from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and noon to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Also from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, there will be a classic and custom car show. During the festival there will be family entertainment including petting zoo, banana derby (trained monkeys riding dogs), crazy zombie paintball, magic show, zombie thrill show, BMX stunts, chainsaw wood carving, children’s theater and youth archery.

In addition, every day at 6 p.m., a ticket will be drawn to win a bike. For the evening entertainment, the Saline Fiddlers will play in front of the public from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday. Also, at 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday there will be a laser light show and fireworks in West Park.
