Jefferson Street Farmers Market is from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in downtown Burlington. The Pet Parade has been moved to today’s market. Meet at 5:20 p.m. outside The Beancounter Coffeehouse & Drinkery to line up for the 5:30 p.m. parade. The Grand Marshal will be the DMC Sheriff’s K-9, Tank, with Deputy Dilan Beaird.

Burlington Mall Gun Show hosted by Militia Armaments Gun Club is 4-8 p.m. at the Westland Mall, 550 S. Gear Ave., West Burlington. General admission all weekend is $10.

Fort Madison High School Jazz Ensemble free outdoor concert at noon at the Central Park Pavilion. Call David Taylor at (319) 470-5984 and order a picnic basket delivered to you in Central Park and explore jazz in all its varied forms. A limited number of baskets will be available during the concert. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the FMHS Music Department.

Jefferson Street Cruise Night east from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Shop, dine, remember and check out the rolling stock. Construction on the regular route will redirect the cruise to Washington and Valley streets.

CRST Latest Model Dirt Series is at 34 Raceway. The grandstand opens at 4 p.m., the fast laps at 6:15 p.m. and the race follows. Grandstand admission is $30 for adults, $25 for students and seniors, and $5 for ages 10 and under with a paying adult.

“Mount Pleasant Old Town Cemetery” Pat White’s program is at 2 p.m. at the Henry County Heritage Center Museum, 403 West Madison St., Mount Pleasant. Learn about the history of Mount Pleasant’s oldest cemeteries and the early settlers, politicians and veterans buried there. Free entry.

Pet Shelter Without Killing PAW Pop Can Drive takes place the third Saturday of every month in the old JC Penney parking lot at Westland Mall, West Burlington. Refundable bottles, cans and glasses can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to noon.

Steamboat Senior Center, 501 Jefferson St., will have music by Gary Fisher from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Entrance fees are $5. Everyone is welcome.

Sunny’s Legacyhelping sick, stray and feral cats and kittens, accepts exchangeable cans and plastic bottles from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday in the old Burlington ShopKo parking lot.

DMC Transitions515 S. Main St., the Homeless Emergency Shelter Open House is 1-4 p.m. The refuge can accommodate 13 people per night.
