DARE celebrates with the Edwardsville Auto Show on Sunday

EDWARDSVILLE – The 30th Anniversary DARE Car-Truck-Motorcycle Show will be held at Edwardsville High School, 6161 Center Grove Road, from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 21.

Vehicle check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $15 to have your vehicle judged and $10 to exhibit your vehicle. Prize giving will take place at 4 p.m. inside the school cafeteria. All activities will start at noon and will be free for spectators. There will be food, entertainment, 50/50 and a silent auction. There will also be goodie bags for all entries and Dash Plates for the first 350 entries. All proceeds benefit the local DARE program.

DARE was founded in 1983 and has been so successful that it has been implemented in thousands of schools in the United States and many other countries. DARE is a police-led classroom lesson series that teaches children from K-12 how to withstand peer pressure and live productive lives free of drugs and violence.
