Bob and Tom Show Bob Zany will perform in Martinsville on June 25


From a Tony Award-winning entertainer to a staple of the Bob and Tom Show and a few other events, Owen and Morgan counties will offer a number of entertainment options for all family members.

Here are five things happening this weekend around Martinsville, Mooresville and Spencer.


24 N. Washington St., Spencer, Ind.

The Tivoli Theater in Spencer will host VentFest this weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

History discovered: Pieces of the old Martinsville Railroad discovered by construction workers.

VentFest is an international ventriloquism and arts festival featuring a number of ventriloquists offering four different performances over the weekend.

The shows will start at 7 p.m. on Friday and will also take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at 7 p.m. on Saturday and the gala show will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The gala show stars Jay Johnson, who received the 2007 Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event.

Mooresville Summer Concert Series

1101 N. Indianapolis Rd., Mooresville, Ind.

RD Productions and Mooresville Parks and Recreation will host Jayne Bond & The Pink Martinis at 7 p.m. Friday at Pioneer Park.

After: The Lady Patriots make the most of the “off season”.

The event is free and spectators are asked to bring their own seat.

Food trucks will be on site and beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Classic cars line up at the 2021 Valley Rally organized by Stability First.

Rally in the Valley

1749 Hospital Dr., Martinsville, Ind.

Stability First will host the Valley Rally at the Morgan County Fairgrounds on Saturday.

The event includes a 5K run/walk, car show and bike ride.

The 5K will start at 8:00 a.m. with the bike ride at 10:00 a.m.

Prizes will be awarded at 9:30 a.m. for the 5K, 1 p.m. for the motorcycle show and 2 p.m. for the car show.

The Madison Township Fire Department will hold its annual Fourth of July celebration beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Mooresville News: Dawson Logistics walks away from a $5 million deal to purchase the Mooresville building.

The event is free and includes activities for children, food and other entertainment.

The fireworks will go off at dusk.

Bob Zany in Martinsville

1010 S. Josephine St., Martinsville, Ind.

The Martinsville Elks Lodge will host Bob Zany, a Bob and Tom Show regular, at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday.

Zany has also appeared on The Tonight Show and co-hosted the Jerry Lewis Telethon.

More to do: The annual Serving Owen County Together event will take place on June 25.

The comedian also appeared alongside David Spade in the film Joe Dirt and in the film The Informant in which he played the lawyer for Matt Damon’s character.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the lodge bar after 2 p.m. daily.

Other events

Those aren’t the only events taking place this coming weekend in Owen and Morgan counties.

The second Serving Owen County Together event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Owen Valley Middle/High School Complex, 622 State Road 46, Spencer.

The Owen County Farmers’ Market will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the corner of North Short Street and State Road 46 in Spencer.

The Morgan County Farmers’ Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Main Connection, 460 S. Main St., Martinsville.
