Galt job fair on August 4

The Galt Career and Resource Fair will take place on August 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Veterans’ Soccer Field, providing local residents with a place to learn about career options. The event is sponsored by the California Employment Development Department, Sacramento Works and California Human Development, and the first 75 attendees will receive a box of food. Market on Saturday August 6

The town of Galt hosts a new Saturday market on the first Saturday of the month until October. The event will take place on the Fourth Street Promenade and will last from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors will be offering food, produce, fresh flowers, and arts and crafts.

Herald Day August 6

The Herald Community Club will host the 42nd annual Herald Day Festival on August 6. This is the first time the event will include a car show and cruise. The car show setup begins at 7 a.m. The parade begins at 9 a.m., followed by a live auction at 11 a.m. A live band will perform from 1 to 4 p.m., and the day will end with a cruise. Craft vendors and Lions Club Bingo will be available throughout the day.

Bereavement support meetings begin August 13

GriefShare, a bereavement support group, will hold a series of meetings on Saturdays, August 13 through November 5, at the Galt Seventh-day Adventist Church. Participants can find support and encouragement after the death of a loved one. Meetings will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and registration is at the door. A notebook costs $20; if you cannot afford the notebook, one will be provided to you. Galt Seventh-day Adventist Church is located at 619 Myrtle Avenue. Friends of the NRA Fundraiser August 19

County Line Friends of the NRA will host their annual fundraiser on August 19 at 5 p.m. at Lodi Moose Lodge. Individual admission is $75. From $175 to $10,000, there are various packages, including admission, game entries, and raffle tickets to win various guns or a gun safe. Money raised will be used locally to support firearms safety and training.

Monthly street cleaning August 20

The Galt Beautification Committee and Youth Commission organize regular street cleaning on the Saturday after the third Thursday of the month. The next cleaning is scheduled for August 20 at 8 a.m. Check the Town of Galt’s Facebook page closer to the day of the appointment.

GAHS Motor Show Seeks Attendees for August 27 Event

The Galt Area Historical Society is accepting entries for its annual car show at McFarland Living History Ranch on August 27. She searches for vehicles from 1970 or older, including pickup trucks, muscle cars, motorcycles and more.

Registration costs $20. The first 100 registered cars are guaranteed a dash plate and all participants receive a t-shirt, $35 for an oil change and a free lunch.
